Gradska plinara Zagreb – Opskrba d.o.o. was established on 24 April 2008 by Gradska plinara Zagreb d.o.o. pursuant to the provisions of the Gas Market Act (Official Gazette 40/07) and Directive 2003/55/EC requiring separation of gas supply activities from gas distribution activities, which is a basic prerequisite for the liberalization of the energy (natural gas) market on the territory of the Republic of Croatia and harmonization with the EU acquis communautaire.
Adhering to the above regulations, Gradska plinara Zagreb d.o.o. has legally and physically separated the activities, which ultimately resulted in the constitution of a new legal entity, Gradska plinara Zagreb – Opskrba d.o.o., as a new member of Zagreb Holding. Consequently, on 8 May 2009, a License for Performance of Energy Activities was obtained from the Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency (dozvola.pdf).
All employees were transferred from Gradska plinara Zagreb d.o.o. with the same rights and under the same conditions as provided by the union agreement and the collective bargaining agreement.
